For this fashion design assignment, I used the concept of transparency to express gender, referencing clothing from both Anishinaabe and the dominant culture. Sports bras, mesh fabric, Ojibwe florals, ribbon dresses, dance aprons, and leggings all informed the work. I used colors prominent in Ojibwe regalia: black, red, and green. The clothing is meant to be worn by anyone so compelled to wear it.
