Potawatomi Two-Spirits Illustration

An Ojibwe take on two Potawatomi two-spirits for the Native Justice Coalition, for an upcoming two-spirit healing stories event in Pokagon Potawatomi territory. On the left is an Agowinini, a term which could potentially include a butch, transmasculine person, or trans man in a Western cultural sense, and on the right is an Agokwe, a term which could include a transfeminine person, trans woman, or a femme gay man. The Agowinini and Agokwe support and care for each other. They both wear old school-inspired finery, but I decked out the Agokwe with a red Potawatomi blouse and ribbonwork skirt because I’m sure that’s what she would wear!
